Inspired by a Medal Ribbon which is granted to recognize someone’s merit such as military bravery, good doing for others and great achievement for the public.
We carried on this meaningful Medal Ribbon into selvage fabric with the Thai Traditional Natural Indigo hand dyed heritagethat we strongly passion to revive and preserve.
This Blue Nails jacket’s yarn is natural indigo dipped dyed 15 times to get this dark beautiful blue color (1 kg of yarn used 2.5 kg ofindigo mud, which needed 12.5 kg of freshly hand-picked indigoleaves with other natural elements slowly fermented together).
Our skillful local artisan indigo dyed the color so deep to the limit, which required extensive time and effort. And to hand dyed this smooth dark indigo color, experienced artisan and quality naturalindigo dye are very crucial.
The jacket’s selvage fabric that we chose here is also very limited. Only 70 yards can be weaved. For this, it took us 6 months to finishthe fabric & 2 more months for the fabric test, design, pattern, cut and sewn. Thus, less than 20 pieces of this jackets can be crafted.
Our jacket is timeless and was carefully designed for every day use as we believe in ‘cost per wear’ concept and sustainability.
Due to the jacket’s delicacy of hand-dyed yarn and fabric construction, please wear it with care, stretch the fabric not too hard & hand wash.
